The Australasian Universities Risk & Insurance Management Society (AURIMS) is a forum for those involved with the management of risk and insurance in the higher education sector; it is designed to share experiences and offer solutions to common issues.

AURIMS comprises people who are responsible for risk management, business continuity, disaster recovery and insurance in their respective University, TAFE or Institute of Technology and currently has members from around 50 institutions across Australia, New Zealand and Asia. It was formed in 1999 out of the Victorian Universities Insurance Group, which was established in 1995 to discuss common insurance and risk management issues on a regular basis.

There are no membership application or annual fees. 

An annual meeting is held in conjunction with the AURIMS Conference, usually in May. See the Events (Members) section for conference papers. Minutes of meetings are also located in the secure Members log-in. In previous years, quarterly meetings have been held around the country. If a university wishes to host a quarterly meeting, please contact the AURIMS President (see the Executive section).  

The AURIMS Listserv [] is hosted by Adelaide University. Listserv's are a useful way for members to post a question and raise issues with university members. A problem experienced by one member may have already been experienced by another member; learning how the matter was addressed can be beneficial in determining the best approach to take.

A listserv function is not accessible via this website, however members can email each other, or all members, from the secure member section. The AURIMS LinkedIn site has been set up to provide a confidential area for questions and discussion. See the icons above the Search function.
